India eSIM
India eSIM
A local Indian SIM means paperwork, a photo and a wait at the counter. This runs on Jio and Airtel instead, the same networks a local phone uses, and is working by the time you reach the taxi rank.

How to set up your Olysim travel eSIM in 3 steps
Choose a plan, scan the QR code that lands in your email, and switch the line on when you arrive. Install it on wi-fi before you travel - data only starts counting once you connect at the destination.
Why buy a India travel eSIM from Olysim
Pick the size that fits the trip
A long weekend and a month in India need very different plans, so you choose the data and the days. Around 3GB covers a week of maps, messaging and a daily scroll; 10GB carries a fortnight with video calls home.
Set it up at home, land connected
The QR code arrives by email seconds after payment. Scan it on wi-fi before you leave, and the India line comes alive on its own once you land and switch it on.
Someone answers, any hour
Stuck on the install, or the line will not attach after landing? Message us and a person replies, whatever the hour is where you are.
What is an eSIM and how does a travel eSIM work?
A SIM built into the phone
Phones from the iPhone XS onward, and most Android flagships since 2019, carry an eSIM slot alongside the usual tray. Adding a travel plan writes it to that slot, and your everyday SIM stays where it is.
The QR code is the plan
Scanning the code from your email writes the plan onto that handset. It installs once and stays there, so scan it on the phone you are actually travelling with.
Skip the arrivals counter
Buying a local SIM at arrivals usually means a passport, a form and a queue, in a language you may not read. An eSIM is already on the phone when the wheels touch down.

India eSIM: frequently asked questions
Jio and Airtel, the two networks with the widest reach in the country. Your phone picks whichever is stronger, so coverage matches a local prepaid SIM.
Nothing on arrival. The profile is issued when you buy it and arrives by email, so it is on the phone before you land and working as you walk out of the terminal.
Yes. Jio and Airtel cover the small towns and the highways between them, so the Golden Triangle drive, the Kerala backwaters and the Goa coast are all inside the footprint.
Along most of the route, yes. Jio and Airtel follow the main lines, and the gaps are the remote stretches between stations, the same as they would be on an Indian SIM.
Any carrier-unlocked phone with eSIM support: iPhone XS or later, Pixel 3 or later, most Android flagships from 2019 on. Look for Add eSIM in network settings.
Yes. Add more from the Olysim app and it lands on the eSIM already installed.
